Thursday 19th May

On Thursday the 19th Frocester under 15b travelled to Cam c.c. to play their second game of the season. After finishing a close second to Minchinhampton the week before Frocester where keen to get off the mark with a win against their old rivals cam .Cam won the toss and decided to bat With Capt. |Mark Glew opening one end and opting for spin the other with George Field, Cam got off to a good start with A. Ford driving the first ball through the covers for 4 and then a single .The second over started in much the same way as the first with A. Ford again hitting 4 of the first ball. But two balls later a superb ball from G. Field   going down the slope and the spinning back to remove Fords off stump for 9 followed two balls later with another to remove M. Johnson for no score. With field now in his stride the next six overs yielded only 13 more runs for the loss of 4 more cam wickets those of  W. Hayward 1 J. Beeson 0  C. Roberts 0 and J. Dolbear 10 all to the spin of G. field who finished with impressive figures of 4-2-6-6 runs and Cam reeling on 26 for 6 of 8 over’s . With the top order now gone it was up to the tail to try and restore some pride for the home team and M. Pretty 7 and O. Niddrie 12 did a little before J. Pinker finished the innings of with 3 wickets to finish with 3.3-1-3-4 runs and a stumping for P. Old of the bowling of B. Kenifick leaving Cam on 61 all-out in the 20th over. IN reply Frocester got off to a steady start losing only two wickets in the first 6 over’s for 25 runs that of O. Summers for 4 and J. Prichard for 2 this brought together the strong partnership of P. Old and J. Lister who with the opening bowling of W. Hayward seen of preceded to score freely and get Frocester home with no further lose. The former finishing 19 not out and the latter 28 not out. A great team performance well done lads.
