A number of Frocester's youth players attended a Youth Leaders Award in Cricket; 
an introduction on how to coach cricket to young players and run practice 
games that allow players to learn through participation. The event was run by 
Gloucestershire Cricket Board, delivered by Ross Farrer who is Cricket Development Officer 
for Gloucester & Forest of Dean. The feedback from the lads was extremely positive; 
they learnt a great deal as well as having great fun. The next step for 
these lads is to get involved in assisting youth coaching sessions and games/festivals 
over the remainder of the summer. I will be talking to the lads individually to identify 
opportunities to practice there new skills with experienced coaches at the club. From 
the clubs perspective we hope some of these lads get a buzz from coaching and want 
to become lead coaches, which will ensure the future of Youth Cricket at 
Frocester for the years ahead.
